The Pilgrims' Trail follows a medieval route from the shrine of St Swithun at Winchester Cathedral to Portsmouth. The route can be continued to Mont St Michel, by taking the ferry from Portsmouth to Cherbourg and following a waymarked route southwards through Normandy.

The Pilgrims' Trail forms a link in the the Alternative South Downs Way (Section 8: Warnford to Winchester).
